Perth Festival’s 2020 program feature, Highway to Hell, allowed tens of thousands of punters to walk the length of Canning Highway to honour the late ACDC frontman, Bon Scott.

Perth Festival invited selected international, interstate and local artists to collaborate on the project. The outcome included 150,000 attendee’s trekking along the 10km stretch of Canning Highway alongside trucks kitted out by visual artists while musicians performed ACDC covers over 6hours.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community who grew up in a rural area, Day wanted to celebrate the oscillating masculine and feminine aspects of ACDC found in old RAGE (TV) video clips. The float was accompanied by Abbie May and The Southern River Band, who headlined the event.
